Who are you?

I’m Brett.

Adventurous, honest and hard-working, I live for new challenges and throw myself into every project I take on. I haven’t made a name for myself by sitting still or taking the easy way out and I always, always see things through to completion. I’ve developed a reputation for making things happen, not because I have knowledge that other’s lack but because I don’t quit.

For almost two years I traveled around North America with nothing but a backpack full of technology to document my adventures and a list of all the things I had told myself I wanted to do in life and yet had, up to then, been putting off. And despite plenty of nights spent on park benches in the cold and untold numbers of nights spent on stranger’s couches I refused to return home until every item was crossed off my list.

What have you done?

After earning a BS Degree in Design from the University of California at Davis and minors in both Managerial Economics and Film I moved to Southern California where I lived on a boat and commuted to my first professional job as a Junior Designer in Santa Monica. While working in the print design department at 2g Studios I worked on projects as varied as the logos and collateral for the 2006 CMAs, ads for various music industry groups and CD covers.

Just when I was starting to get over the long, long commute, a position opened in a design department at the Disneyland Resort where I had been working weekends dressing up like a bit character torn from the pages of a Mark Twain novel and driving the rafts that took guests back and forth to Tom Sawyer’s Island (to date, one of my all-time favorite jobs). I spent the next several years working mostly on props for the attractions, set design and decoration for rides and television specials and lots and lots of holiday decor for the two theme parks and three hotels at the California Resort.

Lest you think I’m all about design it should be mentioned that in the middle of all of this I was also managing a company that a partner and I had started while we were in college that produced and marketed waterproof bicycle seats throughout the United States.

At some point I made a list of the things I wanted to do in life at the insistence of a co-worker and my little sister. The problem there was that once I made the list it just kept looking at me, asking why I wasn’t doing anything about it. So naturally I did the only reasonable thing and left my job and my home behind and set out to travel the country with nothing but a school sized backpack until I crossed all fifty items off my list.

Several television appearances and hundreds of radio and newspaper interviews later…I’m back and ready for the next challenge.

What does the winner get?

For starters, you get an intelligent guy who works harder than most would even consider.

Although that would be enough of a boon for most companies, in this case you will also be enjoying a PR dream come true. Imagine, even if you don’t win, you still get your company’s name out there in a well-publicized venue that tells the world, “Things are getting back on track. Even in a down economy we are still looking to hire great employees!”

But for the winner, the entire world will get an engrossing six-month long inside look at your company thanks to a proven reality storyteller. With compelling blog posts and a well producing 3-10 minute short form documentary video each week detailing my new adventures and experiences on the job, everyone will know just how fascinating life inside your brand can be!
